I need to start watching this again.

Once I’ve caught up with Dexter. And finished The Wire. And re-watched every single Big Bang Theory. And introduced Sandy to Firefly. And then there’s that book I need to finish. And the 7 million other books I’d like to read. And don’t get me started on films. I haven’t even seen Toy Story 3 yet!

I need to get less of a life and more… stuff.

How the Paperback Novel Changed Popular Literature

Classic writers reached the masses when Penguin paperbacks began publishing great novels for the cost of a pack of cigarettes (click to read the article in The Smithsonian)

Books. Books. Books. Too many and never enough.

Crooked Little Vein - Warren Ellis
Just finished reading. Warren Ellis is all the bad things that you think but are reluctant to say. I say reluctant because maybe if more people read the book, loosened their tongues and grew the balls to have a real conversation then maybe we’d talk about these things more. As for what these things are; maybe I’ll feel like talking about them later.
Anyway, it only took me a few hours to get through this book. I loved every page, every scene, every situation and every character. Even the guy who injected watered down monkey shit into his veins. Yes, even him.
Read it.

Map / Underground London
On the subject of maps;
“Under the streets of London there’s a place most people could never even dream of. A city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels, knights in armour and pale girls in black velvet. This is the city of the people who have fallen between the cracks.”

I’ve almost finished the first book I’ve read solely on my Kindle. My Kindle that Sandy got me for Christmas. The book is Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel if you’re interested. It’s good.
Having the Kindle has encouraged me to read more, I think. Or enabled me to read more. Wolf Hall is a pretty big book; couldn’t see me carrying it around and reading it on the bus.
I still love books. Paper, books. But I also love my Kindle.
